Their complementary skills and strengths, coupled with their diverse backgrounds and vast market knowledge, truly make the whole greater than the sum of its parts.
Strong Connection. The great relationship between Jan Rosenberg and Erika Sackin goes way back and is the foundation of their success as real estate partners. When Jan first began her career in real estate, Erika was one of her first clients!
Synergistic Path. Jan founded the hugely successful brokerage firm Brooklyn Hearth Realty Ltd. in 2003, which quickly became a mainstay in Ditmas Park and grew its expertise throughout the borough. Fast forward to 2015, when Erika ventured into real estate sales at Jan’s firm, and the duo have been working together happily and productively ever since. They moved on to Douglas Elliman in 2017 and becoming instant top producers.
Top Talent. In 2018, Jan was recognized with the President’s Circle Award, and Erika was Brooklyn’s Rookie of the Year. They formed The Jan Rosenberg/Erika Sackin Team in 2019 and ranked in the Top 20 Teams in NYC for Douglas Elliman in June that year.
Meaningful Journeys. After spending 28 years as a sociology professor at LIU’s Brooklyn campus, Jan applied her studies to neighborhood activism and worked to regenerate Ditmas Park. She found local entrepreneurs to start businesses, introduced young folks to the area, and educated co-ops and apartment building owners, ultimately leading her to found ‘Friends of Cortelyou’ in 2001. She realized real estate could serve as a vehicle for further revitalizing her community and the Brooklyn urban landscape she calls home, and her passion for the profession continues to this day.
Erika, who bought her co-op in Ditmas Park in 2006, also immersed herself in the artistic and entrepreneurial community that helped transform Cortelyou Road. Prior to real estate, she honed her keen eye and relentless attention to detail as a retail buyer for 10 years and as a set dresser for TV shows and commercials.
Specialized Knowledge. Clients benefit from the same superior service and attention upon which Jan’s company and reputation were built, enhanced by a dynamic collaboration of expertise and the formidable reach and resources of Douglas Elliman. The core of the team’s business is co-op sales in Ditmas Park and Kensington; however, houses, mixed-use properties, and condos across all neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Manhattan are equally important in their portfolio. Decades of living and working in Brooklyn afford them unparalleled insights into this unique marketplace.
Clients. Community. Care. Compassion. Jan and Erika not only take a genuine interest in nurturing the communities they serve, but take pride in helping clients achieve utmost satisfaction and success.
