In recent years, many families and professionals have been lured to Ditmas Park, which offers spacious apartments and detached single- and multi-family houses that are larger than their equivalent in Park Slope or Brooklyn Heights. Walking down some of the side streets, you may think you have landed in a suburban wonderland, complete with driveways. But while this central Brooklyn enclave is farther away from Manhattan than its high-profile competition, it still offers plenty of urban amenities and lively dining. Organic markets and yoga studios can be found easily nowadays, and the local schools have markedly improved.
